Dead Man's Wire: Preview screening (Cert tbc) (Glasgow Film Festival 2026)

Thursday, 05 Mar 26 at 19:30 p.m.

2025 . Director: Gus Van Sant . Runtime: 105min.

The morning of February 8, 1977, Anthony G. “Tony” Kiritsis, 44, entered the office of Richard O. Hall, president of the Meridian Mortgage Company, and took him hostage with a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun wired with a “dead man’s wire” from the trigger to the Hall’s head.
This is the true story of the stand-off that took the world by storm as Tony demanded $5 million, no charges or prosecution, and a personal apology from the Halls for cheating himout of what he was “owed.”
Directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Bill Skarsgård and Al Pacino, is a 1970s true-crime drama that has had preview screenings at other venues, such as the BFI Southbank and as an awards-qualifying run in the US. It is set for a nationwide theatrical release on January 26, 2026.
