In anticipation of our upcoming ‘Lord of the Rings screenings’ we invited local independent cinema fan, Nicholas Shearer, to write this month’s guest Hippodrome blog post. Nic is a Data Ethicist from Falkirk who specialises in software development and data projects. He likes his cinemas like he likes his films - with lots of character!
The informal event has been planned around the showing of a new film – Much Ado About Dying (cert. 15) – and will be facilitated by members of the teams at Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers’ Centre and Strathcarron Hospice.
Alison Strauss has written this blog post about watching One Life (PG) at the Hippodrome this weekend and about her very personal connection with the story. Alison is our Arts Development Officer (Film and Media) at Falkirk Council and is the programmer of the Hippodrome year-round and founding director of the annual Hippodrome Silent Film Festival.
A special screening, featuring the director and stars of a new Scottish documentary, comes to the Hippodrome Cinema, Bo’ness on Saturday 27th January at 2.30pm.
